Survival of The Fittest

We live in a world where Charles Darwin’s “Survival of the fittest” seems to apply everywhere!! While we grow we learn to survive being dependent on our elders to pick us up, feed us, open doors for us even change our nappies!! We survive the struggle to speak the first word and then to learn how to write it!! (and once we do we never stop!!) We also survive eating anything that may have come our way!! We survive peer pressure, a plethora of books, exams and then results!! We struggle to survive every step of our way!! But its human nature; isn’t it?? We always try to win every race and every fight!! we are born fighters, best at surviving and evolving ..

But what did not survive in us is the spirit of humanity. There are a few exceptions but humanity is on the verge of extinction. In spite of being the fittest surviving race on this planet the one which can “THINK” and “FEEL” we apparently end up misusing these two traits the most. We are trained to think only for ourselves and feel only temperature of the day.

We learn from our experiences and from those of the others. But there are some things we did not learn. After centuries of war we did not learn that it isn't the answer to anything; it only destructs and spreads misery. What we have not learnt is how to survive side by side; how not to misuse the power we have; it isn't possible to tame fellow humans, sooner or later they will rebel and when they do it might be your end.  We haven't learnt that using symbols of peace does not spread peace, one has to work towards it achieving every second of it; consciously and intentionally!!We have a habit of blaming it on our nature and survival instincts. What we fail to understand is the age old saying, "Unity in Diversity"!

Why do we kill another human being just because their skin might be a little darker or their features a little different or they might follow another religion or they might speak another dialect? What we don’t realise is, in spite of so much diversity in culture all religions spread the same message, that of love and compassion! Language is just a medium of conversation and the difference in the color of our skins is just a play of genes. What we forget is what lies within!! We do not look inside the human soul! We  forget that they have the same feeling and the same emotions! They feel the same way you feel when a loved one is lost! Then why is it that we ignore all this and still go on trying to prove ourselves to be superiors when in reality it’s the whole race that is superior not one person and definitely not just one sect!

If each of us ask these questions to ourselves and try to empathise we would realise the power we would have if we stand united and how peaceful life would be!!

An eye through an eye via my lens ;)

Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye.

Everything you want to do or whoever you want to be is in your hand. The day you respect yourself the world will do it too. Stand up for yourself as no one else will.. Be positive be strong headed and nothing will ever come in your way.

Things will be as you want to see them when you work towards it :) Its going to be hard but if there is a vision and you put yourself into making it a reality nothing can stop you but you!!

As a man is, so he sees. As the eye is formed, such are its powers.

Finding my Way !!

When i look down from the heights of the mountain i climbed

The vast expanse of the ocean of lights looks up to me and says, "you are a star which will shine so bright your are the star Which will be the guiding light."

The city tells me, i wont be lost in the crowds of its narrow lanes;

Rather i will rise above all sorrow and pain.

I will achieve what i aspire for, and when the time is right the world will know it all.

My struggle, my journey and the incredible strength.

All my worries will pay for themselves

When the people beneath these city lights will see how an extraordinary girl leaped such an extraordinary length!

The vast expanse of the city waits to envelope me in its arms, so i wake up each morning to be someone!!

Live up to your hopes :)

Hope is a good thing, may be the best thing, and no good thing ever dies.

Whenever we go for an outing and i look at people around me i realize that every human lives towards fulfilling a hope, a desire to be what they want to be.. hope is a factor which helps you keep going forward in life and accepting everyday as a challenge..

Everyone has there own share of problems but the one who learns to keep them aside and go on with life is actually a happy person...

Life gives us only a few opportunities.. grab them before its too late.. we get to live only once live it to the best you can..

Face challenges, fall in love.. make mistakes.. get beaten up.. give your best .. as life goes on .. and only when a person has faced defeat will they know the real taste of victory .. and trust me its the best feeling....

Victory is not on;y when you move mountains.. it is when you get the inner satisfaction of having accomplished something .. even if it is waking up for three nights to finish a school project.. winning a match, a bet, as lame as it may be... getting a smile on a friend's face.. making your parents proud...

Not everyone will know what you did, but who cares as long as the ones who love us and will be a part of our celebration know what we achieved and how our journey was...

So keep going.. life is short.. don't live a restricted life.. help someone.. hug someone.. be who you are.. give the best you can .. rest is all destiny :)

Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go un-witnessed because I will be your witness'."

"Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go un-witnessed because I will be your witness'."

What does one life actually mean if there is no one to witness it. Everyday i worry about how will my career take shape? will i get what i want ? will i do what i like or will just be thrown around in the crowd of the millions?? But what if i do get all that i wished and hoped for .. but i don't have anyone o share this joy with.. What if i don't get anything who will be there to hold my hand in sorrow and in pain, everyday and every moment of my life...

No one wants to lead a lonely life .. not even those who are self proclaimed loners.. so go ahead fall in love, make mistakes, take chances, let your heart break.. let someone pick up the pieces once again.. don't be scared... don't be shy, don't be guilty... it will all fall in place...

We get only a single chance to live.. Don't miss it .. don't regret doing anything ... always remember everything happens for a reason and sooner or later you would know it :)

The college i go to ...

As a friend of mine once said, "We go to college in Lonely Kalbhor (Loni Kalbhor, Pune). I think this expression says pretty much. I travel almost 30 kms, one way to reach this destination, but every time i take this road the only thing running at the back of my mind is that i'll be back to civilization soon. Though i don't particularly stay on campus and the only places i do go to are the one floor college of mine, with as few a classroom as fewer the students, and the third floor canteen of the college adjacent to ours.

Thought the place is away from the hustle-bustle of the city life but at the same time it is praticallly a poor example of peaceful life either. Everyday the campus seems more and more barren and lifeless. It can't even be called scenic with the amount of construction going on in any corner the eyes can go.

From the angle i see it, the feeling is that of restlessness which one has when there is no signal on my phone when i need it the most. We were a bunch of talented, enthusiastic young students when we came here, but in a short span of six months we just survive with the hope of getting back to the society at the end of our course.

When the other students in the students hub of the country enjoy vibrant activities around the city, we the students of lonely kalbhor wait for the Institute of Design to organize something.

Its just the need of the hour that i go back to this campus everyday. And i desperately wait for the day i will never have to look back here again.

Celebration of "LOVE"

The only thought which comes to my mind when i think of Valentine's day is LOVE and what it really is. I believe its a habit and will believe so until proven otherwise. Some people say why celebrate this day? Its for the western cultures.. I know that love should be celebrated everyday and in a way we do but whats the harm in celebrating a festival of love and the cliche`s attached with it?? We pray everyday then should we not celebrate religious festivals too??

But unfortunately people have narrowed down the celebration of love as only for the couples or lovers. I believe spread love do something special for your loved ones, your neighbors and all those people who form an important part in your being.. Let them know that you love them... express yourself.. do a little something different.. Let them know they matter..

In the end i would only say, "Make peace if not love or vice-versa!!" ;)

EGO

A friend said a few days ago, "Male ego is stupid but female ego is dangerous". This thought kept on ringing in my mind for days. Today i know the answer to it. "Female ego is dangerous because of the stupid things men do because of their male ego."
